Ana Wildhart is an artist and photographer based in the United States, with deep roots in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas. Her early love of art was shaped by the inspiring Mexican folk art and murals that can be found all throughout the city.
Ana’s creative journey began at the age of 19, when she became a professional photographer. She was recognized for her vibrant, colorful portraits. She was also an avid supporter of the local art community, frequently attending and purchasing art at First Fridays and art shows. She eventually launched a small magazine called “Vierge” to promote a closer community within the San Antonio photography scene.

During the 2020 pandemic, Ana was able to rediscover her passion for the fiber arts. At this time, she began crafting a large coiled rope basket, a project that took months to complete but ignited a wave of inspiration for new artistic endeavors.

This rediscovery led Ana to experiment with continuous rope coiling techniques, resulting in her signature “continuous line purses”—sculptural bags created from a single, unbroken piece of rope. As she honed her skills, Ana realized the endless possibilities of using these methods to create intricate, dimensional sculptures.

In addition to her rope art, she enjoys making confections, painting, jewelry making, film photography, embroidery, bead embroidery, and sewing; constantly seeking new ways to merge textures and materials in her work.
When she’s not creating, Ana enjoys quality time with her husband, whether cooking up new recipes, playing video games together or exploring the great outdoors on hikes. Through her art, Ana invites others to experience the beauty and creativity she finds in both the everyday and the extraordinary.
