After I tried my hand at weaving a mitten on a cardboard loom earlier this year, I knew I eventually wanted to make some Christmas stockings for my husband and I! Once I finished this year’s final rope sculpture, I decided to prioritize making our stockings.
To start, I made 2 giant stocking shaped cardboard looms and got to work! I used a thick cotton macrame cord to weave the stockings and some cotton butchers twine for the lettering. It was a pain to flip these right side out when I finished sewing because the macrame cord has zero stretch. But they are super sturdy and will last us forever!

Materials used- A cardboard loom, red and green macrame cord, organic cotton butchers twine, red and green embroidery floss and a tapestry needle.
I started my husbands on October 12, 2025 & finished it on November 1, 2025. I started mine on November 3, 2025 & finished it on November 20, 2025.
Now we will always have these beautiful stockings and I will always remember weaving them with my own two hands 🙂
Well that’s it for 2025!
I hope you have a happy holiday season & new year!
Until next time!
